Settings
Choose when you want calls, where they reach you, and how conversations sound. This guide follows the controls on your Settings page.

Your call rules
Use Your call rules to tell agents when you want to hear from them: routine updates, a finished task, a preference or an approval. Write up to 2,000 characters, then choose Save rules.
While researching, call me every hour with a short update.
Call when the daily checks finish, even when everything is on track.
Call me when a task is finished and ask what's next.
Always call before touching production.
When your work is done, stand by for calls for 30 minutes.
Don't call for anything reversible — just proceed.Agents receive the rules in the server instructions and the request_human and check_in descriptions when they connect. Rules are quoted as preference text, with carriage returns and tabs normalized to spaces.
A rule is yours to write: an agent quotes these instructions back when it calls, and nothing here saves on its own — every change waits for Save rules.
Availability
Availability controls whether ordinary incoming rings are allowed. Your call rules guide the agent; these controls silence calls at the app level.
- Do not disturb silences incoming rings until you turn it off. Silenced calls can appear in History, and agents can leave a message when voicemail is enabled.
- Quiet hours applies a saved time window. Set From and Until, then choose Save window. Outside that window, calls can ring unless Do not disturb is on.
- Check the displayed timezone. A saved window keeps its original timezone when you travel. If it differs from this device, Settings offers an explicit action to use the device’s timezone.
A callback you explicitly requested and Welcome’s scripted phone test have their own availability exceptions. An agent marking a call urgent does not override your quiet hours. Your phone’s notification and Do not disturb settings still apply.
Voicemail
Voicemail is off by default. Turn it on under Availability to let an agent leave a message after an eligible missed or silenced call. It is an opportunity for the agent to leave a message, not an automatic recording of every missed ring.
Messages are stored as text in History and spoken when you choose Play voicemail. You can read the text and request a callback there. Notification delivery is separate from saving the message; see voicemail and callbacks.
Devices & notifications
Open Devices & notifications on the phone or browser you want to reach and choose Ring this device. You can register up to ten devices on an account. Calls request a ring on enrolled devices; the first successful answer joins the conversation.
- iPhone: in Safari, choose Share → Add to Home Screen. Open the installed web app, sign into the same account and enable notifications there. A normal Safari tab cannot receive that web push.
- Android browser: Chrome can register directly. A notification may offer Open and Dismiss. Open brings up the call screen, where you answer; Dismiss declines the ring.
- On the lock screen: notifications can show the agent and project name. The agent’s reason for calling is shown inside the app.
- Remove: revoke that device’s registration. Removing the current browser also attempts to unsubscribe it locally; removing a different browser cannot operate that browser’s local subscription. Registrations reported as gone by the push service are removed automatically.
Android app: An Android app with a real lock-screen ring — Answer and Decline on the lock screen — is in private beta and not yet available to install. When using an available beta build, Ring this device requests notification and microphone permission and registers the app with an app badge. Its enrolled device credential is revocable through Remove.
Sign in with your browser starts the app’s browser sign-in and account-confirmation flow. Return to the app to finish. If Android reports background restrictions, use the offered battery-settings action and check the phone’s configuration. The device setup guide keeps the complete platform paths together.
Agent connections
Agent connections contains the Claude Code command, optional check-in hook, Codex configuration and raw endpoint. The Quickstart explains connection, authentication and the common device/test steps. Claude Code is tested, Codex CLI is in beta, and other compatible clients remain unverified.
Tokens for clients without OAuth supports a client that can send a fixed bearer header but cannot complete browser authorization. Claude Code and Codex use the documented OAuth path.
- Create token shows the credential once. Save it at that point; only a hash is stored, so the original token cannot be shown again.
- Revoke removes a token you no longer need or have lost track of. These tokens do not currently expire automatically.
- Last used helps you recognize a connection. Unused means there is no recorded use; it does not prove the token was created by mistake.
Conversation tone
Under Voice & conversation, choose how you’d like your agents to phrase calls and messages. There is one selected tone per account, and the example shows illustrative wording without playing audio.
- Neutral — Clear and matter-of-fact. This is the default; choose it to clear the extra style preference.
- Warm — Friendly and considerate.
- Cheerful — Upbeat and encouraging.
- Direct — Brief and to the point.
- Calm — Steady and measured.
The choice saves immediately. Wait for Saved; if the save cannot be confirmed, Settings shows your last confirmed choice with guidance to try again. Tone is separate from voice selection and transcription language.
Compatible agents receive the preference the next time they use AgentCall, including in subsequent tool results. An opening that has already been written does not change. Agents may interpret a style differently; the preference is guidance, not a guarantee of particular wording. Your instructions, truthful communication, urgency and call rules take priority.
Agent voice
Under Voice & conversation, choose the voice your agents use on calls. There is one selected voice per account. Use Preview to hear a sample without changing that selection; choose the voice itself to save it.
- Aurora — Neutral · warm (default)
- Ember — Masculine · clear
- Sage — Masculine · British
- Atlas — Masculine · deep
- Lyra — Feminine · bright
- Willow — Feminine · soft
Samples are pre-generated clips and do not use your daily speech allowance. A sample can take time to load or fail to play; the local message lets you retry or choose another voice. Voice choice is stored using AgentCall’s catalog key.
Transcription language
The Transcription language control sets a preferred language for your speech. Auto-detect is the default and detects the language of each utterance. Choose another language to give transcription a stronger hint, especially when nearby speech uses a different language.
Available choices: English, Hindi, Urdu, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Korean, Russian, Turkish, Dutch. The saved preference uses its standard language code.
Usage
Usage shows this month’s calls, missed and answered calls, and talk time counted from the moment a call was answered. Voicemail records and the scripted setup phone test are excluded from these call totals.
The same section shows today’s agent speech and your transcribed speech against the daily allowance, with the reset time. These are counts and durations, not conversation text. If the section cannot load, use Retry usage.
Two lesser states read differently, because they mean different things. If the counters themselves cannot be read, the section says a daily cap is configured but that nothing is counted while the meter is unreachable — and offers Retry usage. That is worth knowing rather than reassuring: while counts cannot be written, the cap is not applied, so speech is not limited. If the deployment has no comparison meter at all, the section says no daily cap is configured.
Daily voice allowance
AgentCall is free in beta. The default daily allowance is 60,000 characters of synthesized agent speech and 3,600 seconds of transcribed human speech. Deployments can configure different caps; check the current values in Usage.
After a cap is reached, the call continues as text. Agent messages remain readable, and you can use Type to reply. The counters reset each UTC day; Settings displays the reset time in your local timezone.
Settings also explains when a deployment has no daily cap configured or voice is unavailable. A missing allowance display alone is not proof that speech is unlimited.
Account data
Open Account data and choose Delete everything to review the confirmation. Confirmed removal permanently deletes your call records, transcripts, voicemails, registered devices, preferences and events, and your hosted sign-in account where applicable. There is no undo.
Wait for the result. If deletion reports incomplete cleanup or an error, follow the message and retry; opening the dialog or clicking the button does not establish that everything was removed.
For a smaller change, delete an individual call from its transcript in History, or remove one device under Devices & notifications. The Privacy & data guide explains stored information and deletion limits.
